Old Barrel Handcrafted Vodka from France

July 10, 2017

My usual reaction to any vodka after the third shot is ‘enough!’ With Old Barrel Handcrafted Vodka from France, it’s ‘more!” Production started with your standard for premium vodkas five-time distillation but it’s not the end. It goes into same charred oak barrels used for cognac aging and the final result is absolutely amazing. It’s silky smooth, slightly creamy and totally lacks any bitterness in the aftertaste. And it has amber color. It most definitely will never work with Russian style ZAKUSKA like a pickle or rye bread with a piece of salted lard aka SALO. It has to be totally awesome for cocktails but why to mix such a beautiful drink with anything else? While officially it’s vodka, it’s neither your typical vodka nor cognac or whiskey. The only problem you can face is that the first production is just 3000 bottles, so grab it whenever you see it and I promise you’ll never complain about the loss of approx 25 bucks it costs.

P.S. When you drink vodka never salute NAZD’ROVIYE! The original Russian version is BUDEM ZDOROVI!!! Meaning ‘let’s be healthy!’ Dah…
